How Long Does the Trial Last?
The trial usually takes four weeks: two to get the speech-language pathologist trained and the user trained, and two for the users to work with the device on their own and in therapy sessions. How Do I Know if a Lingraphica Device is Right for People with Aphasia and/or Apraxia?
Lingraphica provides a Clinical Consultant to work with a speech-language pathologist (SLP) throughout the trial. In addition to training the SLP, the consultant helps the SLP evaluate if a Lingraphica device is appropriate for a user. A patient-evaluation tool is built right into the Lingraphica devices to make the process easy. How Do People With Aphasia and/or Apraxia Get Their Own Lingraphica Device?
Once it has been determined that a Lingraphica device is appropriate, the speech-languauge pathologist fills out the Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) form that we provide; one of our Clinical Consultants can help to fill it out. Our Reimbursement Specialist will obtain a doctor's prescription and authorization, if necessary, from the insurance provider. Once the trial has ended, the loaner device gets shipped back to us using a pre-addressed and pre-paid return-shipping label. Once we have all the completed paperwork, we will ship a new customized Lingraphica device directly to its new owner. How is a users Lingraphica Device Customized?
Once the device has been recommended and an order has been placed, we manufacture and customize the device. Using the Personal Interests Form, we can input information about about your patient's family members, medication, interests, and communication needs, we will configure a unique device. Right out of the box the device will contain phrases like "Hi, my name is John" or "I like to watch the Phillies."How Does a Speech-Language Pathologist Get Free CEUs for the Trial?
