It is critical that users be able to operate the Lingraphica comfortably and effectively. For this reason we offer several ways for patients to access the device. Your Clinical Consultant will help you choose the best option for your patient.
Patients can operate the Lingraphica with any pointing device that has a USB interface with Mac OS X compatibility, including the built-in track pad, conventional or large mouse, trackball, joystick, and head mouse.
The Lingraphica may be ordered with a built-in touch screen so that users can operate the device by touching the screen with their finger or a stylus. This option has an additional charge, which is covered by many insurers.
Settings for features like pointer sensitivity, acceleration, and double-click speed can be tuned to a user's preferences, and sequences of keystrokes may be treated as key combinations or shortcuts.
If your patient has special accessibility needs, ask your Clinical Consultant how Lingraphica can help.
If you download the SmallTalk aphasia app onto your iPhone or iPod touch from the App Store, you may find that the built-in speakers are not loud enough to use in public places. For this reason we offer external speakers. These are built into a lightweight, zippered carrying case that you can take with you in a purse or attach to a belt. You can order the speaker case from us for $30. Two AA batteries are required, but not included.
