During this session, we will discuss more advanced teletherapy techniques, including incorporating Lingraphica’s technologies into your virtual sessions. Topics will include conducting an AAC device trial virtually, using Lingraphica’sTalkPath Therapy in sessions, and a panel of SLPs experienced with teletherapy to answer questions and share tips and best practices for conducting teletherapy.

However, different patient characteristics and needs require different features and programming. During this course, we will review how Lingraphica’s AAC devices can be used with people with a variety of impairments, including TBI, autism, developmental disability, and dysarthria. We will review factors to consider based on the client’s impairment, needs, and skills. AAC and Aphasia: Putting Research Into Practice – 2:30 PM ET

60 minutes (0.1 CEUs)

AAC implementation for people with aphasia can lead to a lot of questions. When should we introduce it, what features are important, and what patient attributes and factors contribute to success? During this course, we will highlight recent research into best practices when using AAC with people with aphasia combined with tips and case studies from practicing SLPs. Topics include when to introduce AAC, including the benefits of early introduction and tips for success in an inpatient setting. Finally, we will identify helpful AAC features for people with aphasia.
