Hi Robin – my apologies for the delayed response! I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s stroke and the difficulties you both face in communicating with each other. A lot of folks with aphasia prefer to use external strategies such as writing down words on paper or a white board, or using a communication board with pictures/words to help them communicate. Other folks prefer to have an AAC device with them to help compensate for lost verbal communication. I work with Lingraphica and would be happy to explore some of these strategies with you if you’d like!
