Lisa’s Story

On Saturday in August of 2010, I was going places. I went to McDonalds but couldn’t talk to order my food. Then I drove to my parents home in Winter Haven. I went to bed that night and still could not talk. I woke up and my father saw that my face was drooping. I still could not talk. My parents took me to Winter Haven Hospital. I only spent four days in hospital. I had a stroke and has aphasia. I did outpatient therapy. I speak until November 2010. I start listen to book on MP3 player it help me talk. After five years, I talk and go to Women’s Club and Aphasia support group. I love to sewing and make a lot of my clothing.
