Hello
Posted by Dwight Moss on February 15, 2023 at 12:29 pmMy name is Dwight Moss and I am the caregiver for my wife Glenda. She had a stroke in October 2021 while we were visiting Yellowstone National Park. She is left with sever aphasia. We are not giving up, but she has not had much progress to improve her ability to say meaningful words/sentences for months now.

Hi Dwight! I’m so sorry to hear about your wife. Aphasia is an incredibly challenging and isolating disorder for the whole family. I’m glad you found the Community and the resources we provide here. I would highly recommend your wife joins Virtual Connections. We offer daily virtual support groups and conversation groups for people with aphasia. She can practice her speech, make friends, and find a community of people on the same journey. We have sessions for care partners as well. All sessions are 100% free. Here is the link to all of our sessions: https://virtualconnections.aphasia.com/. Please let me know if you have any questions. Never give up!!!

Allie,
Thanks for your invitation. I am sure my wife cannot participate herself due to many other conditions. However, I am very interested in caregiver tips/suggestions etc. What’s up with the caregiver forum?

We would love to have you join the caregiver sessions! Please feel free to send me an email if you would like session recommendations: areed@lingraphica.com. I see you posted a forum for caregivers! I hope you get some responses. I know there are quite a few on this site! 🙂

Also I checked in with our tech team about the caregivers forum and it is being fixed shortly! Thank you for bringing that to our attention 🙂
