Hi y’all
Hi. My name is Kim. I am my sister, Alice’s caretaker. I’m on the left in the picture, she on the right. Alice was diagnosed with aphasia following a bleed on the back left side of her brain after a clamp and coil of an aneurysm on the rt front side of the brain. That part of the surgery was a success. Physically she’s fine but the aphasia sucks. I’d just be happy if we could get to a place where she could stay alone while I work. Caregivers are so expensive! I’ve been fighting to get her in a skilled nursing facility for the last 10 months unsuccessfully! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I’d love to hear them. Please tell me it gets easier. Hi Kim! My name is Allie Reed and I’m a SLP at Lingraphica. Unfortunately I do not have any resources for paid caregivers or nursing facilities, however I would highly recommend joining some of the caregiver support sessions we offer on Virtual Connections.
